Virginia Attorney General seemingly unconcerned with violent hate crimes

On Tuesday, Fox News’ Bill O-Reilly reported that Virginia's Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli has decided not to get involved in the investigation of two Virginia-Pilot reporters who were beaten by a mob of black teenagers in Norfolk, last month.

Cuccinelli will not even ask that the 911 tapes be released, according to O’Reilly.

While the Fox News host expressed surprise at the decision and found Cucinelli’s lack of interest in the case “troubling,” it is typical for the Commonwealth’s current Attorney General.

The following case serves as an example of Cucinelli’s disinterest in such matters:

On Friday, April 16, 2010, William Douglas followed 59-year-old Sylvia Hollingsworth, who is white, out of a 7-Eleven at the corner of North King Street and Rip Rap Road in Hampton.

As she got into her car, he attacked her.

According to the police report, he punched the woman in the face, neck and arms and repeatedly slammed her legs with the car door. Throughout the ordeal, the woman was subjected to a tirade of racist profanity.

After the attacker’s ride sped away, the man fled the scene.

Police believe that a few minutes later, Douglas actually shot at another person.

The victim told WVEC 13 News: “Never once did he try to take my keys. Never once did he ask or try to take my pocketbook or any money. He was just out to hurt.”

Hollingsworth continued: “It leaves me hurt, and I feel like I'm a victim of a hate crime. Just in his own words, he hated whites and he was going to kill my 'f---ing' white ass, as he put it, and that's what he was trying to do.”

Hollingsworth, who walks with a cane, is still living with the injuries suffered in the attack.

William Douglas was charged with malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied vehicle and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

There was no robbery involved, and the attacker and victim did not know one another. So, when an attack occurs for no apparent reason, one has to look a little deeper for a motive, such as race.

The attacker in this case, was black, while the victim was white. While that fact seems to have been initially overlooked by the police as well as by most of those reporting on the incident, race-fueled hatred is apparently the only motivating factor in this case.

A few weeks after the attack, Hampton police announced that the case against Douglas had been turned over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), for possible prosecution as a hate crime.

However, given the fact that our current Attorney General has himself, expressed his approval for the unfair way in which the law is often applied, it certainly came as no shock when the FBI dropped the case.

In June 2009, during his testimony before a Senate panel considering new hate crimes legislation, Attorney General Eric Holder clearly suggested that any new laws passed would not apply to white victims. When Sen. Jeff Sessions pressed Holder into saying exactly who would be protected under such laws, Holder gave his opinion that only those who have been subjected to “the unfortunate history of our nation,” should receive the added protection.

Douglas eventually pleaded guilty to assault and firearms charges, and was sentenced to serve a minimum of three and a half years in prison.

In April 2011, I spoke with the victim who informed me that the FBI interviewed her on multiple occasions, but did not offer her an explanation as to why the case was simply dropped.

Mrs. Hollingsworth told me that she has not been back to the convenience store where the attack occurred. She also said that for a time following the brutal assault, she was called a “racist” by some in her neighborhood for pressing charges against her attacker.

However, Hollingsworth is not bitter.

She said: “I’ve got some good friends, black and white.”

Though Douglas was not prosecuted for a hate crime, Hollingsworth is relieved that he will be off the streets for at least a few years.

The Norfolk and Hampton FBI offices refused to comment on this case.

While it was not surprising that the same Justice Department which dropped the case of voter intimidation against the Black Panthers, despite overwhelming video evidence, chose not to prosecute Douglas for his hateful attack…we should have expected and demanded that Virginia’s self-described ‘strict Constitutionalist’ Attorney General Ken Cucinelli to apply state law and charge Douglas accordingly.

However, he did not.

Virginia hate crimes legislation was signed into law in 1994, and states:

A. Any person who commits a simple assault or assault and battery shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor, and if the person intentionally selects the person against whom a simple assault is committed because of his race, religious conviction, color or national origin, the penalty upon conviction shall include a term of confinement of at least six months, 30 days of which shall be a mandatory minimum term of confinement.

B. However, if a person intentionally selects the person against whom an assault and battery resulting in bodily injury is committed because of his race, religious conviction, color or national origin, the person shall be guilty of a Class 6 felony, and the penalty upon conviction shall include a term of confinement of at least six months, 30 days of which shall be a mandatory minimum term of confinement.

Iraq veteran suffered fatal mob beating...press ignores

On March 25, as the national press was running around-the-clock coverage of the Trayvon Martin shooting, 34-year-old Zachary “Zach” Gamble, a former U.S. Marine and veteran of two tours of duty in Iraq was found lying unconscious in an apartment complex parking lot in Cobb County, Georgia.

Gamble was attacked by a group of men as he left a friend’s birthday party held at the Concord Chase Apartments, according to police.

Gamble was rushed to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, with severe head injuries. He never regained consciousness and was taken off life support April 8.

Gamble left behind his 7-year-old son, Luke.

On May 1, police arrested Arthur Lynell Batchelor, 37, of Acworth, and Jason Scott Hill, 35, and Tarell Winston Secrest, 36, both of Marietta, while Sean DGene Hall of Atlanta, 38, was arrested a day earlier.

The Marietta Daily Journal has reported that Hall has also been charged with violating his probation stemming from a 2009 DUI conviction.

There had been a total of $30,000 in reward money offered by Atlanta Crime Stoppers and Tina Robbins, the victim’s mother for information leading to the suspect’s arrests. Police have not yet said if the reward led to the arrests.

Gamble was white and all of those accused of his brutal murder are black, and while the details of this tragedy did not rate even a mention from the national press…, such details seemed to become the only thing that mattered to that same press in another tragedy.

So, is the race of the victims and that of the perpetrators the only reason the press has so heavily pushed the Martin killing while ignoring Gamble’s fatal beating?

We have been told many times that the reason for the disparity in the coverage of the Trayvon Martin shooting and other violent crimes was that the admitted shooter, George Zimmerman had not been arrested.

However, that simply does not hold true in Gamble’s case, as no arrests were made until weeks after his death as well.

Unfortunately, violence, murder and racism are sad facts of life in this country and none of the aforementioned maladies show any signs of weakening.

The least we should expect is equal and fair crime coverage from the press, yet we are not receiving it.

The press has a duty to cover the news…all of it.

Attorney General Eric Holder refuses to apply the law equally

In June 2009, during his testimony before a Senate panel considering new hate crimes legislation, Attorney General Eric Holder clearly suggested that any new laws passed would not apply to white victims. When Sen. Jeff Sessions pressed Holder into saying exactly who would be protected under such laws, Holder gave his opinion that only those who have been subjected to “the unfortunate history of our nation,” should receive the added protection.

Last summer, dozens of so-called ‘flash mob’ attacks were committed by black teenagers on white victims…both President Obama’s and Eric Holder’s silence on this issue spoke volumes.  

More recently, there has been a rash of black-on-white violence since the Trayvon Martin shooting. In fact, at least one of the attackers reportedly told his victim the blows he was receiving were in retribution for the Trayvon tragedy.

What follows are a few of the crimes upon which the Department of Justice has refused to take any action:

FBI drops hate crime investigation

Again, Obama and Holder have refused to mention the attacks, nor file federal hate crimes charges against the accused perpetrators.

Of course, Obama felt the need to use his bully pulpit to tell the nation that if he "had a son...he woudl look like Trayvon."

However, the president did not feel the need to extend his sympathies when a former U.S. Marine was allegedly beaten to death by a group of black men in Georgia.

Nor did the Justice Department take action when the New Black Panthers announced a $10,000 bounty on the head of George Zimmerman, distributing "dead or alive" flyers.

The most glaring example of Holder’s bias in matters of race came rather early in his tenure as the nation’s top-cop.

Shortly after becoming Attorney General, Holder dropped charges against three Black Panthers, who were caught on video, trying to intimidate white voters outside of a Philadelphia polling location on Election Day 2008.

The three, Minister King Shamir Shabazz, Malik Zulu Shabazz and Jerry Jackson were all charged during the final days of the Bush administration with violating the Voting Rights Act by using coercion, threats and intimidation.

Shabazz held a nightstick, pointing it at people. Prosecutors said he “supports racially motivated violence against non-blacks and Jews.”

Charges were brought against the Black Panthers by the Bush administration. However, the Obama administration dropped them in May 2009, settling instead, for an agreement with Shabazz to not carry a “deadly weapon” into or near a polling place until 2012.

Which, means that come November…we may very well see a repeat of the ugly 2008 incident, now synonymous with Obama’s Department of Justice.

At the time of the incident, poll watcher Bartle Bull provided a sworn affidavit to the crime saying: “I watched the two uniformed men confront voters and attempt to intimidate voters. They were positioned in a location that forced every voter to pass in close proximity to them. The weapon was openly displayed and brandished in plain sight of voters.”

Bull also claimed that the Black Panthers tried to "interfere with the work of other poll observers ... whom the uniformed men apparently believed did not share their preferences politically.” He said that one of the black panthers told a white poll worker “you are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker.”

In 2011, Bull spoke out on the event again, telling Fox News: “I find it deeply offensive. I know people who died over these issues, like Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. If we can't defend their legacy, it's shameful to us and this administration.”

He continued: “If Americans can't vote honestly, and the government doesn't protect their right to vote, we don't live in a democracy. Last year Obama complained when the government in Afghanistan did not run the election properly. What about Pennsylvania?”

In not prosecuting the Black Panthers, Bull says Obama “violated his oath of office.”

It should be noted that Bartle Bull, a longtime Democrat, was a civil rights lawyer in the 1960’s as well as a campaign manager for Robert F. Kennedy.

In 2010, DOJ whistleblower J. Christian Adams testified before Congress about the refusal to uphold the law as it applies to everyone, which is now occurring under Attorney General Eric Holder. While all of the focus has been on what many would say is the DOJ’s outright protection of the Black Panthers in what was a blatant violation of the Voting Rights Act, there may actually be an even more troubling policy at DOJ.

According to Adams, the DOJ has undertaken a policy not to purge the voter rolls of ineligible voters, such as felons and dead people.

Adams reports that he attended a meeting at which Deputy Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandez, who supervises the voting section at DOJ, actually instructed her attorneys not to enforce the law because it “would not increase turnout.”

While the Fox News host expressed surprise at the decision and found Cucinelli’s lack of interest in the case “troubling,” it is typical for the Commonwealth’s current Attorney General.

The following case serves as an example of Cucinelli’s disinterest in such matters:

On Friday, April 16, 2010, William Douglas followed 59-year-old Sylvia Hollingsworth, who is white, out of a 7-Eleven at the corner of North King Street and Rip Rap Road in Hampton.

As she got into her car, he attacked her.

According to the police report, he punched the woman in the face, neck and arms and repeatedly slammed her legs with the car door. Throughout the ordeal, the woman was subjected to a tirade of racist profanity.

After the attacker’s ride sped away, the man fled the scene.

Police believe that a few minutes later, Douglas actually shot at another person.

The victim told WVEC 13 News: “Never once did he try to take my keys. Never once did he ask or try to take my pocketbook or any money. He was just out to hurt.”

Hollingsworth continued: “It leaves me hurt, and I feel like I'm a victim of a hate crime. Just in his own words, he hated whites and he was going to kill my 'f---ing' white ass, as he put it, and that's what he was trying to do.”

Hollingsworth, who walks with a cane, is still living with the injuries suffered in the attack.

William Douglas was charged with malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied vehicle and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

There was no robbery involved, and the attacker and victim did not know one another. So, when an attack occurs for no apparent reason, one has to look a little deeper for a motive, such as race.

The attacker in this case, was black, while the victim was white. While that fact seems to have been initially overlooked by the police as well as by most of those reporting on the incident, race-fueled hatred is apparently the only motivating factor in this case.

A few weeks after the attack, Hampton police announced that the case against Douglas had been turned over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), for possible prosecution as a hate crime.

However, given the fact that our current Attorney General has himself, expressed his approval for the unfair way in which the law is often applied, it certainly came as no shock when the FBI dropped the case.

In June 2009, during his testimony before a Senate panel considering new hate crimes legislation, Attorney General Eric Holder clearly suggested that any new laws passed would not apply to white victims. When Sen. Jeff Sessions pressed Holder into saying exactly who would be protected under such laws, Holder gave his opinion that only those who have been subjected to “the unfortunate history of our nation,” should receive the added protection.

Douglas eventually pleaded guilty to assault and firearms charges, and was sentenced to serve a minimum of three and a half years in prison.

In April 2011, I spoke with the victim who informed me that the FBI interviewed her on multiple occasions, but did not offer her an explanation as to why the case was simply dropped.

Mrs. Hollingsworth told me that she has not been back to the convenience store where the attack occurred. She also said that for a time following the brutal assault, she was called a “racist” by some in her neighborhood for pressing charges against her attacker.

However, Hollingsworth is not bitter.

She said: “I’ve got some good friends, black and white.”

Though Douglas was not prosecuted for a hate crime, Hollingsworth is relieved that he will be off the streets for at least a few years.

The Norfolk and Hampton FBI offices refused to comment on this case.

While it was not surprising that the same Justice Department which dropped the case of voter intimidation against the Black Panthers, despite overwhelming video evidence, chose not to prosecute Douglas for his hateful attack…we should have expected and demanded that Virginia’s self-described ‘strict Constitutionalist’ Attorney General Ken Cucinelli to apply state law and charge Douglas accordingly.

However, he did not.

Virginia hate crimes legislation was signed into law in 1994, and states:

A. Any person who commits a simple assault or assault and battery shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor, and if the person intentionally selects the person against whom a simple assault is committed because of his race, religious conviction, color or national origin, the penalty upon conviction shall include a term of confinement of at least six months, 30 days of which shall be a mandatory minimum term of confinement.

B. However, if a person intentionally selects the person against whom an assault and battery resulting in bodily injury is committed because of his race, religious conviction, color or national origin, the person shall be guilty of a Class 6 felony, and the penalty upon conviction shall include a term of confinement of at least six months, 30 days of which shall be a mandatory minimum term of confinement.

On March 25, as the national press was running around-the-clock coverage of the Trayvon Martin shooting, 34-year-old Zachary “Zach” Gamble, a former U.S. Marine and veteran of two tours of duty in Iraq was found lying unconscious in an apartment complex parking lot in Cobb County, Georgia.

Gamble was attacked by a group of men as he left a friend’s birthday party held at the Concord Chase Apartments, according to police.

Gamble was rushed to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, with severe head injuries. He never regained consciousness and was taken off life support April 8.

Gamble left behind his 7-year-old son, Luke.

On May 1, police arrested Arthur Lynell Batchelor, 37, of Acworth, and Jason Scott Hill, 35, and Tarell Winston Secrest, 36, both of Marietta, while Sean DGene Hall of Atlanta, 38, was arrested a day earlier.

The Marietta Daily Journal has reported that Hall has also been charged with violating his probation stemming from a 2009 DUI conviction.

There had been a total of $30,000 in reward money offered by Atlanta Crime Stoppers and Tina Robbins, the victim’s mother for information leading to the suspect’s arrests. Police have not yet said if the reward led to the arrests.

Gamble was white and all of those accused of his brutal murder are black, and while the details of this tragedy did not rate even a mention from the national press…, such details seemed to become the only thing that mattered to that same press in another tragedy.

So, is the race of the victims and that of the perpetrators the only reason the press has so heavily pushed the Martin killing while ignoring Gamble’s fatal beating?

We have been told many times that the reason for the disparity in the coverage of the Trayvon Martin shooting and other violent crimes was that the admitted shooter, George Zimmerman had not been arrested.

However, that simply does not hold true in Gamble’s case, as no arrests were made until weeks after his death as well.

Unfortunately, violence, murder and racism are sad facts of life in this country and none of the aforementioned maladies show any signs of weakening.

The least we should expect is equal and fair crime coverage from the press, yet we are not receiving it.

The press has a duty to cover the news…all of it.

Virginia Attorney General seemingly unconcerned with violent hate crimes

On Tuesday, Fox News’ Bill O-Reilly reported that Virginia's Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli has decided not to get involved in the investigation of two Virginia-Pilot reporters who were beaten by a mob of black teenagers in Norfolk, last month.

Cuccinelli will not even ask that the 911 tapes be released, according to O’Reilly.

Local paper only reports suspects’ race when one of their own is attacked

On Tuesday, The Virginian-Pilot ran a story about two of their own reporters being beaten in a gang attack by “at least 100 young people.”

The mob beating took place two weeks ago at the intersection of Church Street and Brambleton Avenue, an area where violent crime is in fact, a sad fact of life.

The Pilot reported: “Wave after wave of young men surged forward to take turns punching and kicking their victim.

The victim's friend, a young woman, tried to pull him back into his car. Attackers came after her, pulling her hair, punching her head and causing a bloody scratch to the surface of her eye. She called 911. A recording told her all lines were busy. She called again. Busy. On her third try, she got through and, hysterical, could scream only their location.

Church and Brambleton. Church and Brambleton. Church and Brambleton.”

Apparently, the reporters, Dave Forster and Marjon Rostami were stopped at a red light when the mob of 100 teens assaulted them, after first throwing a rock at their car.

Both sustained injuries serious enough to keep them out of work for a week.

Now, while the left-leaning Pilot often reports on violent crime, they rarely, if ever report the race of a suspect, when that suspect is non-white.

However, in this case, Pilot reporter Michelle Washington stated: “Forster and Rostami, both white, suffered a beating at the hands of a crowd of black teenagers.”

In fact, outraged, Washington went on to ask if the beating was in response to the Trayvon Martin case, writing: “Were Forster and Rostami beaten in some kind of warped, vigilante retribution for a killing 750 miles away, a person none of them knew?”

Of course, there have been a series of black-on-white beatings since the Florida teenager was killed by George Zimmerman on February 26, but the Pilot, just as most of the mainstream press have chosen to ignore these attacks…until now.

It would also appear that Pilot readers are not buying the paper’s sudden change of heart when it comes to reporting on what would appear to be racially motivated crimes, in which the victim is white.

A few online responses to the article follow:

Alice Pritchard wrote: “Shame on you, Norfolk and The Pilot. This should have been brought to light years ago. My daughter was promised that the area around her condo would be "cleaned up" and safe. It is far from it. Her car has been broken into numerous times. The windows broken, nothing stolen because she knows better than to leave anything in the car. She would love to get out of Norfolk but can not sell her condo, the word is out about the CRIME in Norfolk. The police have all but blamed her for her car being trashed and would not even take a report. She works hard pays her bills and trys to do the "right thing" in every aspect of her life, and still the criminals run the town. Again, SHAME ON YOU NORFOLK AND THE PILOT. I pray for my daughter's safty every night!”

Patrick M. Kenneally also commented: “This rag did NOT have the decency to print this story for TWO WEEKS???? Why, is it bad for Obama??? This rag should be shut down and the editors thrown in jail. This type of story, especially when it involves your own reporters should have been printed the next day. The police should be ashamed of themselves and a MAJOR investigation as to what that cop was thinking should be conducted. Maybe they should make him a crossing guard, since he obviously does NOT know what he doing with a real crime.”

And, finally, John T. Roberts said: “The Pilot owes readers -- and a national audience, now that Drudge has picked up the incident -- a detailed explanation of why and how it covered up this story.

Given the paper's direct political ties to the Obama administration, the paper has a LOT of 'splaining to do.

It certainly serves the administration's purposes to have stories of black-on-white crime suppressed in the wake of recent national interest in the Trayvon Martin story.

In contrast, it is hard to see any benefit The Pilot itself gains from hiding this event, since doing so is clearly a violation of professional ethics.

This from a newspaper that repeatedly pontificates on the need for "more sunshine" in public dealings!”

Mexican Mafia targeting blacks in California

Escondido, CA â€" Last week, while testifying in the trial of a gang member, Erik Witholt, an Escondido Police Department detective, told the court that a leader of the Mexican Mafia has ordered several Latino street gangs to work on “getting blacks out of Escondido.”

An unidentified North County Latino gang member told the North County Times “When he (Espudo) first got out [of prison], that's one of the first things he did. He saw how things have changed, from when he went in to when he came out, so he made that ‘green light.’”

A ‘green light’ is a gang term for permission to severely beat or murder someone.

The North County Times reported that Mexican Mafia member Rudy Espudo has “directed street gang activity in inland North County. Espudo was arrested in January and indicted, with 118 other people, for a range of crimes, including racketeering and drug dealing,” according to federal law enforcement.

Wilholt also said that violent attacks on black people in Escondido have greatly increased since the powerful gang issued the order two years ago.

-On February 6, 2012, a black man sat waiting in a car with his girlfriend and her child, was at Rose Street and East Valley Parkway when seven Latino gang members surrounded their vehicle and repeatedly stabbed the man. The victim barely survived the ordeal.

Of course, violence directed at blacks by Latino gang members has been occurring at an alarming rate throughout California.

-In 2011, five Latino gang members were charged with hate crimes against black men in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Oceanside.

-In March 2008, as 17-year-old Jamiel Shaw walked home, illegal alien gang member Pedro Espinoza pulled alongside the teenager, and asked him what gang he was in. According to witnesses, the high school football standout did not answer him, he did not answer because he had no part of gang life.

According to police, Espinoza then opened fire on Jamiel, killing him only feet away from his house. His father heard the gunshots that would take his son from his side forever.

At the time of his murder, Jamiel’s mom, Anita Shaw, was deployed in Iraq with the U.S. Army. She returned home for his funeral.

Espinoza has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial for first-degree murder.

Because Los Angeles is a ‘sanctuary city’ for illegal aliens, even violent gang members such as Espinoza are all too often placed back into the communities they terrorize, rather than turning them over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation.

The Shaw family continues to fight for the passage of “Jamiel’s Law” which would force Los Angeles law enforcement to crack down upon and target illegal alien gang members, much the same way the Shaw family and many others believe that those same illegal aliens are now targeting the black residents of L.A.

The family has a website dedicated to Jamiel, and the passage of the measure. Visitors can make a donation through the website, all donations go to purchasing media ads to promote “Jamiel’s Law” and to raise awareness of the dangers posed by illegal aliens to American citizens.

In late 2010, I spoke with Jamiel’s aunt, Althea Rae Shaw, who said of her nephew: “I just miss him so much, he loved his country and he was so proud that his mom was serving in Iraq…he couldn’t wait to see her come home.”

When asked what message she would like her community to hear, Mrs. Shaw said: “We really need to target Supervisor Ridley Thomas, we need to recall him and we really need a new city council.”

She continued: “We need a city council geared to protecting American citizens, instead of illegal aliens. We need public officials who will stop bowing down to illegal aliens.”

Jamiel Shaw was not a gang member, nor was he a ‘troubled youth,’ nor did he fit into any of the categories or labels our society so often uses to explain away a senseless murder. He was a good kid with a very bright future, loved by a strong family…a family who still loves him and who still fights for him.

The Shaw family continues to fight for the passage of “Jamiel’s Law” which would force Los Angeles law enforcement to crack down upon and target illegal alien gang members, much the same way the Shaw family and many others believe that those same illegal aliens are now targeting the black residents of L.A.

Mob beats man on his own front porch “for Trayvon”…press ignores

Mobile, AL â€" On Saturday night, Matthew Owens told a group of kids to stop playing in the middle of street, only to have them return with a group of adults who dished out a beating that landed him in the Intensive Care Unit, according to police.

Police say that the group of 20 assailants used chairs, pipes and paint cans to waylay Owens on his own front porch.

The victim’s sister, Ashley Parker, told News 5: “It was the scariest thing I have ever witnessed.” She said the attackers used “brass buckles, paint cans and anything they could get their hands on.”

Parker added that as her brother lie on the ground bleeding, one of the assailants looked back and shouted: “Now that’s justice for Trayvon!”

Owens is still listed in critical condition at the University of South Alabama Medical Center.

Mobile police have yet to make any arrests in the case and are urging anyone with information on the case call Crime Stoppers at 251-208-7000, or text a tip to 274637 and include the keyword CRIME 411.

While this attack may be shocking in it’s brutality, it is only the latest in a string of alleged black-on-white hate crimes in the wake of the Trayvon Martin shooting on February 26, in Sanford, Florida.

-Last week, police in the Chicago suburb of Maywood arrested 18-year-old Alton L. Hayes III, after he and a juvenile accomplice allegedly attacked and robbed a man. Hayes has admitted to the crime and told police he committed the brutal assault because he was angry over the Trayvon Martin case, Cook County State’s Attorney’s office spokeswoman Tandra Simonton told the Sun-Times.

On April 17, Hayes and a 15-year-old Chicago boy grabbed the 19-year-old victim, pinning his arms to his sides. Hayes then threatened to hit the man with a tree branch and said, “empty your pockets, white boy,” said police.

After going through the man’s pockets they knocked him to the ground, punching the victim in the head “numerous times” before fleeing the scene, according to court documents.

Both Hayes and his co-defendant are black.

Hayes has been charged with attempted robbery, aggravated battery and a hate crime. He is currently being held in the Cook County Jail on $80,000 bond.

-On March 28, police in Seneca, South Carolina, announced the arrest of six suspects who they say beat a North Carolina man at an Applebee's earlier this month.

All of the alleged attackers are black and the victim is white. Police believe the attack was racially motivated and have referred the case to the FBI for possible prosecution under federal hate crimes statutes.

Teryn Robinson, 18, Tray Holland, 19, Justin Alexander, 20, Derick Williams, 22, Kino Jones, 25, and Montrez Jones, 22, have all been charged with assault and battery by a mob.

On March 17, officers arrived at the Applebee's at 696 By Pass 123 shortly before 1:00 a.m. Once on the scene, they discovered Terry Moore, 32, lying on the ground, according to the police report.

Moore told police that he went to use the restroom as the rest of his group walked outside to their cars.

Once outside, Moore says he was confronted by a large group of young black men who taunted and shouted racial slurs at him, such as “tree honky” and “cracker.”

One of the alleged assailants knocked Moore to the ground as he was quickly surrounded. The group began punching and kicking him.

One witness told police that one of the attackers used a stun gun on Moore.

Seneca Police Chief John Covington told the Independent Mail that none of those charged knew Moore According to Covington, none of the suspects knew Moore.

All of the suspects are currently being held in the Oconee County detention center.

Why did the press ignore young girl’s vicious beating?

Portland, OR â€" On December 26, 2011, 14-year-old Karley Buckland, an eighth-grader at Centennial Middle School, along with three friends boarded the Max Green Line train at Clackamas Town Center after a day of shopping.

Buckland and her schoolmates sat across from a group of several teenagers who she told The Gresham Outlook: “were trying to start a fight.”

Buckland who is white said one of the teens, who was black, asked her if her male friend was her boyfriend, when she replied “no,” the teen reportedly said: “He needs some chocolate in his life.”

When Buckland laughed at the remark, the three black teenagers surrounded her and commenced with a relentless flurry of punches and slaps, even spitting on her, all the while shouting racial epithets at the white teenager.

The brutal beating was captured on a cell phone video in which other black youths can be seen and heard cheering on the attack.

After viewing the video on Youtube, Buckland said: “It felt like for five minutes.”

While no one made any attempt to stop the beating, another passenger called 9-1-1 and police boarded the train at the Foster Street Station.

Though her alleged attackers had already run from the train by the time police arrived, three teens were eventually charged with the attack. The mother of one of the girls was also arrested.

Selena Estelle Harris, 38, Rakeshia Shamone Burns, 18, and two juveniles were all charged with third-degree assault, riot, second-degree disorderly conduct, harassment and interfering with public transportation.

However, Portland police have chosen not to prosecute the attack as a hate crime.

Despite the obvious racial overtones to this case and the fact that the victim was a 14-year-old girl, this case has received no attention from the national media.

Virginian-Pilot claims black mob beating was not “a news story”

Norfolk, VA â€" On Wednesday, the editor of the Virginian-Pilot as well as one of the reporters who was beaten on the night of April 14, reportedly by a mob of “at least 100 people” spoke publicly about their decision not to cover the brutal attack as a news story.

Editor Denis Finley told WVEC: “This was a simple assault. I have been accused of burying the story…That it’s because, uh, racially motivated. There’s no, we have no idea what motivated it.”

Even the man who was beaten so severely that he missed a week from work, denied what many see as a politically correct cover-up, reporter Dave Forster said: “To think that they were trying to cover up this story because, uh, the attackers were black and I was white is just absurd.”

However, the rather left-leaning paper did sit on the story for more than two weeks, until Pilot editorial writer Michelle Washington penned an essay about the attack, entitled “A beating at Church and Brambleton.”

The piece, while identifying the “wave after wave” of attackers as black, mainly criticized the Norfolk Police Department’s handling of the crime, though police officials have denied any wrongdoing and even directed Marjon Rostami where she could file a complaint on the matter (which she reportedly has not done).

Incidentally, the horrific attack took place at the base of Norfolk’s Martin Luther King Memorial monument, which is located in the intersection of Church Street and Brambleton Avenue.

The fact that such a violent event with apparent racial overtones took place in the shadow of a monument to a man who spent his adult life preaching against violence and racial hatred and even lost his own life doing so, would seem to even the most casual observer to in fact, be “a news story,” but, not according to the Virginian-Pilot.

Mexican Mafia targeting blacks in California

Escondido, CA â€" Last week, while testifying in the trial of a gang member, Erik Witholt, an Escondido Police Department detective, told the court that a leader of the Mexican Mafia has ordered several Latino street gangs to work on “getting blacks out of Escondido.”

An unidentified North County Latino gang member told the North County Times “When he (Espudo) first got out [of prison], that's one of the first things he did. He saw how things have changed, from when he went in to when he came out, so he made that ‘green light.’”

A ‘green light’ is a gang term for permission to severely beat or murder someone.

The North County Times reported that Mexican Mafia member Rudy Espudo has “directed street gang activity in inland North County. Espudo was arrested in January and indicted, with 118 other people, for a range of crimes, including racketeering and drug dealing,” according to federal law enforcement.

Wilholt also said that violent attacks on black people in Escondido have greatly increased since the powerful gang issued the order two years ago.

-On February 6, 2012, a black man sat waiting in a car with his girlfriend and her child, was at Rose Street and East Valley Parkway when seven Latino gang members surrounded their vehicle and repeatedly stabbed the man. The victim barely survived the ordeal.

Of course, violence directed at blacks by Latino gang members has been occurring at an alarming rate throughout California.

-In 2011, five Latino gang members were charged with hate crimes against black men in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Oceanside.

-In March 2008, as 17-year-old Jamiel Shaw walked home, illegal alien gang member Pedro Espinoza pulled alongside the teenager, and asked him what gang he was in. According to witnesses, the high school football standout did not answer him, he did not answer because he had no part of gang life.

According to police, Espinoza then opened fire on Jamiel, killing him only feet away from his house. His father heard the gunshots that would take his son from his side forever.

At the time of his murder, Jamiel’s mom, Anita Shaw, was deployed in Iraq with the U.S. Army. She returned home for his funeral.

Espinoza has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial for first-degree murder.

Because Los Angeles is a ‘sanctuary city’ for illegal aliens, even violent gang members such as Espinoza are all too often placed back into the communities they terrorize, rather than turning them over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation.

The Shaw family continues to fight for the passage of “Jamiel’s Law” which would force Los Angeles law enforcement to crack down upon and target illegal alien gang members, much the same way the Shaw family and many others believe that those same illegal aliens are now targeting the black residents of L.A.

The family has a website dedicated to Jamiel, and the passage of the measure. Visitors can make a donation through the website, all donations go to purchasing media ads to promote “Jamiel’s Law” and to raise awareness of the dangers posed by illegal aliens to American citizens.

In late 2010, I spoke with Jamiel’s aunt, Althea Rae Shaw, who said of her nephew: “I just miss him so much, he loved his country and he was so proud that his mom was serving in Iraq…he couldn’t wait to see her come home.”

When asked what message she would like her community to hear, Mrs. Shaw said: “We really need to target Supervisor Ridley Thomas, we need to recall him and we really need a new city council.”

She continued: “We need a city council geared to protecting American citizens, instead of illegal aliens. We need public officials who will stop bowing down to illegal aliens.”

Jamiel Shaw was not a gang member, nor was he a ‘troubled youth,’ nor did he fit into any of the categories or labels our society so often uses to explain away a senseless murder. He was a good kid with a very bright future, loved by a strong family…a family who still loves him and who still fights for him.

The Shaw family continues to fight for the passage of “Jamiel’s Law” which would force Los Angeles law enforcement to crack down upon and target illegal alien gang members, much the same way the Shaw family and many others believe that those same illegal aliens are now targeting the black residents of L.A.

Local paper only reports suspects’ race when one of their own is attacked

On Tuesday, The Virginian-Pilot ran a story about two of their own reporters being beaten in a gang attack by “at least 100 young people.”

The mob beating took place two weeks ago at the intersection of Church Street and Brambleton Avenue, an area where violent crime is in fact, a sad fact of life.

The Pilot reported: “Wave after wave of young men surged forward to take turns punching and kicking their victim.

The victim's friend, a young woman, tried to pull him back into his car. Attackers came after her, pulling her hair, punching her head and causing a bloody scratch to the surface of her eye. She called 911. A recording told her all lines were busy. She called again. Busy. On her third try, she got through and, hysterical, could scream only their location.

Church and Brambleton. Church and Brambleton. Church and Brambleton.”

Apparently, the reporters, Dave Forster and Marjon Rostami were stopped at a red light when the mob of 100 teens assaulted them, after first throwing a rock at their car.

Both sustained injuries serious enough to keep them out of work for a week.

Now, while the left-leaning Pilot often reports on violent crime, they rarely, if ever report the race of a suspect, when that suspect is non-white.

However, in this case, Pilot reporter Michelle Washington stated: “Forster and Rostami, both white, suffered a beating at the hands of a crowd of black teenagers.”

In fact, outraged, Washington went on to ask if the beating was in response to the Trayvon Martin case, writing: “Were Forster and Rostami beaten in some kind of warped, vigilante retribution for a killing 750 miles away, a person none of them knew?”

Of course, there have been a series of black-on-white beatings since the Florida teenager was killed by George Zimmerman on February 26, but the Pilot, just as most of the mainstream press have chosen to ignore these attacks…until now.

It would also appear that Pilot readers are not buying the paper’s sudden change of heart when it comes to reporting on what would appear to be racially motivated crimes, in which the victim is white.

It is far from it. Her car has been broken into numerous times. The windows broken, nothing stolen because she knows better than to leave anything in the car. She would love to get out of Norfolk but can not sell her condo, the word is out about the CRIME in Norfolk. The police have all but blamed her for her car being trashed and would not even take a report. She works hard pays her bills and trys to do the "right thing" in every aspect of her life, and still the criminals run the town. Again, SHAME ON YOU NORFOLK AND THE PILOT. I pray for my daughter's safty every night!”

Patrick M. Kenneally also commented: “This rag did NOT have the decency to print this story for TWO WEEKS???? Why, is it bad for Obama??? This rag should be shut down and the editors thrown in jail. This type of story, especially when it involves your own reporters should have been printed the next day. The police should be ashamed of themselves and a MAJOR investigation as to what that cop was thinking should be conducted. Maybe they should make him a crossing guard, since he obviously does NOT know what he doing with a real crime.”

And, finally, John T. Roberts said: “The Pilot owes readers -- and a national audience, now that Drudge has picked up the incident -- a detailed explanation of why and how it covered up this story.

Given the paper's direct political ties to the Obama administration, the paper has a LOT of 'splaining to do.

It certainly serves the administration's purposes to have stories of black-on-white crime suppressed in the wake of recent national interest in the Trayvon Martin story.

In contrast, it is hard to see any benefit The Pilot itself gains from hiding this event, since doing so is clearly a violation of professional ethics.

This from a newspaper that repeatedly pontificates on the need for "more sunshine" in public dealings!”

Mob beats man on his own front porch “for Trayvon”…press ignores

Mobile, AL â€" On Saturday night, Matthew Owens told a group of kids to stop playing in the middle of street, only to have them return with a group of adults who dished out a beating that landed him in the Intensive Care Unit, according to police.

Police say that the group of 20 assailants used chairs, pipes and paint cans to waylay Owens on his own front porch.

The victim’s sister, Ashley Parker, told News 5: “It was the scariest thing I have ever witnessed.” She said the attackers used “brass buckles, paint cans and anything they could get their hands on.”

Parker added that as her brother lie on the ground bleeding, one of the assailants looked back and shouted: “Now that’s justice for Trayvon!”

Owens is still listed in critical condition at the University of South Alabama Medical Center.

Mobile police have yet to make any arrests in the case and are urging anyone with information on the case call Crime Stoppers at 251-208-7000, or text a tip to 274637 and include the keyword CRIME 411.

While this attack may be shocking in it’s brutality, it is only the latest in a string of alleged black-on-white hate crimes in the wake of the Trayvon Martin shooting on February 26, in Sanford, Florida.

-Last week, police in the Chicago suburb of Maywood arrested 18-year-old Alton L. Hayes III, after he and a juvenile accomplice allegedly attacked and robbed a man. Hayes has admitted to the crime and told police he committed the brutal assault because he was angry over the Trayvon Martin case, Cook County State’s Attorney’s office spokeswoman Tandra Simonton told the Sun-Times.

On April 17, Hayes and a 15-year-old Chicago boy grabbed the 19-year-old victim, pinning his arms to his sides. Hayes then threatened to hit the man with a tree branch and said, “empty your pockets, white boy,” said police.

After going through the man’s pockets they knocked him to the ground, punching the victim in the head “numerous times” before fleeing the scene, according to court documents.

Both Hayes and his co-defendant are black.

Hayes has been charged with attempted robbery, aggravated battery and a hate crime. He is currently being held in the Cook County Jail on $80,000 bond.
