Norfolk makes "Most Dangerous Cities List"

The CQ Press just released their annual “City Crime Rankings” and Norfolk made the list of the most dangerous cities in the country.

The study looks at population figures and FBI crime reports from across the country, and six specific crimes (murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and motor vehicle theft).

Norfolk ranked 102nd most dangerous out of 400 cities. Neighboring city, Portsmouth, Va., ranked 95th most dangerous.

The report ranked St. Louis as the most dangerous city in the nation. So far, in 2010, the following number of crimes occurred in Norfolk:

Murder…28 Rape…62 Aggravated Assault…480 Burglary…1,643 Robbery…477 Stolen Vehicles…804
