Skynyrd, ZZ Top coming to Charleston Civic Center  – News – The Charleston Gazette – West Virginia News and Sports -

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Southern-rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ top will play the Charleston Civic Center on Oct. 30.

Founded in the mid-1960s, Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of the most beloved southern-rock bands. best known for songs like "Gimme Three Steps" and the classic rock anthem "Freebird," the bluesy country-rock sound helped shape the direction of rock in the early 1970s and is a root influence for many modern country musicians.

ZZ top is a Texas classic rock institution. With hits including "Sharp Dressed Man," "Legs" and "Cheap Sunglasses," the band has had a long musical career, but probably will be remembered best for their famous facial hair.

Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Aug. 26. Reserved seats cost $25, $39.50 and $59.50. There will also be a limited number of premium reserved seats available for $102. Tickets are available through the Civic Center box office, all Ticketmaster locations or by calling 800-745-3000.
