Woman arrested for throwing 2-year-old granddaughter to her death at Virginia mall

According to police, on Monday evening, 2-year-old Angelyn Ogdoc, was thrown from a walkway which links the parking garage to the Tysons Corner Center Mall, in McLean, Virginia. The girl fell six stories to the ground.

The toddler was rushed to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Fairfax County police spokeswoman Tawny Wright said the toddler was leaving the mall with her family when the girl’s grandmother, Carmela Dela Rosa, 50, picked up the girl and threw her to the pavement, some 60 feet below.

Dela Rosa was initially charged with aggravated malicious wounding, which will now be changed to murder.

Police have not revealed any motive at this time.
