Court postponed for Richmond-area teenager charged with rape of foster mom

On Thursday, a preliminary hearing for Arturo Lopez, who was arrested last month and charged with the rape of his foster mom was re-scheduled for May 27, in Henrico County General District Court.

On April 9, Lopez’ foster mom called police to report that her 18-year-old foster son had just raped her at knifepoint. The victim was able to leave the house and call 911, after telling Lopez that she had to get to work.

Lopez, 18, was reportedly homeless before being placed in the foster home in 2009. He turned 18 just five days before the alleged assault.

Lopez is being held without bond.
