On Tuesday, a Fairfax County patent attorney was arrested for threatening the life of President Obama and his chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel.

The man, who goes by the name of Adam Albrett as well as Muhannad Almahmoudi, was born in Lebanon and graduated from the University of Virginia Law School in 1997.

According to court documents, he sent a message to the White House Correspondence Office through their website, saying: “THIS IS NOT A JOKE...Inform the FBI, CIA, U.S. Military and DOJ that I am going down to DC to blow the brains out of OBAMA unless he vacates the White House and I am going to shoot up the place and Rham [sic] if I see him... THIS IS NOT A JOKE...I am going to leave Mara at home with water and some food…”

“Mara” is the name of the man’s dog.

Secret Service agents traced the message to an IP address matching a computer in Albrett's home.

The Washington Examiner reported that Albrett is an active member of the New York Bar Association, and in October he gained a patent for a device that allows users to “interact with radio content.”
