Suspected illegal alien arrested for stabbing

Police have arrested Luis Ortiz-Espinoza, 39, following a stabbing at the West Neck Signature Golf Course in Virginia Beach.

The stabbing happened around 4:00 p.m. on Monday in the golf course’s maintenance shop. The victim received a stab wound to the abdomen and was taken to a local hospital. He is expected to recover.

Apparently, both the victim and the alleged attacker work at the golf course.

Ortiz-Espinoza has been charged with malicious wounding, and is being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.

According to the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been notified of the arrest and they expect a hold to be placed on the suspect.
