The FBI recently released their annual Uniform Crime Report, identifying the number of serious crimes in cities across the country. While Norfolk’s city council often brags about the variety of activities available in the city, the variety of crimes so often committed here…has the council undoubtedly speechless.

According to the FBI data, between 2007-2009, there were 5, 499 violent crimes and 36,955 property crimes reported in Norfolk.

The following crimes were reported in Norfolk in 2009:

-aggravated assault…776
-robbery…630
-burglary…2,078
-arson…42
-larceny…9,912
